ALLENDER VS WYLIE

Craig Allander – The Steady Contender

Craig Allander is a methodical, consistent flyer who thrives on clean execution and steady pacing. His wins over Chad Gordon in BPC 2 and BPC 4 solidified his reputation as a strong competitor. However, his loss to Amy in BPC 3 for the Mid-Speed Championship exposed his biggest weakness—he struggles against faster pilots.

Craig is a predominantly a line flyer, he started flying at Ifly Perth and has recently switch to a full time career in Indoor skydiving. Craigs progression and dedicated mindset to flying has seen him rise through the ranks fast. He is on his way to be a future champion and No. 1 contender.

Performance Trends & Analysis

  Strengths

  1. Consistent Execution

    • Rarely makes unforced errors.

    • Keeps altitude and trick busts relatively low.

  2. Composed Under Pressure

    • Has beaten Chad twice in head-to-head matchups.

    • Doesn’t get rattled by aggressive opponents.

  3. Well-Rounded Skill Set

    • Balanced mix of tricks, control, and efficiency.

    • Doesn’t rely too heavily on one aspect of flying.

 Areas for Improvement

  1. Needs to Handle Faster Competitors Better

    • Lost to Amy in BPC 3 due to speed disadvantage.

    • Must work on increasing tempo without sacrificing control.

  2. Trick Execution Can Improve

    • 13 trick busts in BPC 1 suggest room for refinement.

    • Needs smoother transitions between maneuvers.

  3. First-Round Nerves Can Lead to Mistakes

    • High bust count in Round 1 of BPC 1 suggests early struggles.

    • Settles in after the first round but could start stronger.

 Commentary Insight

"Craig Allander is the steady hand of BPC—his calm, methodical approach makes him one of the most consistent competitors. He has proven his ability to win against top talent like Chad Gordon but struggles against faster pilots like Amy Jamieson. If he can increase his tempo while maintaining his clean execution, he’ll be a dangerous threat in future BPC events."

Craig currently coaches and instructs full time at Ifly Downunder.
